A court in Nararayanganj sentenced a man to life term imprisonment for killing his wife in 2023 at Siddhirganj upazila in the district.
The court also fined him Tk 10,000, in default, he will have to suffer six months more in jail.
Nararayanganj Additional District and Sessions Judge Aminul Haque handed down the verdict in the presence of the convict.
The convict was Md Manik Patawari, 57, a resident of Jalkuri Pashchimpara area under the upazila.
According to the case statement, the convicted Manik stabbed his wife to death on January, 2023 in that area. Later, the victim's daughter Swarnali filed a case in this regard.
The court Additional Public Prosecutor Advocate Nazrul Islam Masum confirmed the matter.
