Indian Border Security Force (BSF) has reportedly pushed 11 Bangladeshi nationals, including women and children, across the border into Bangladesh through Chhagalnaiya frontier in Feni.

The incident occurred early Thursday near Yashpur border area.
Among those pushed back are one man, seven women, and three children. The detainees are reported to be residents of Jashore, Narail, and Satkhira districts.

According to Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), taking advantage of inclement weather conditions around 2 am, BSF personnel forced the group across the border through pillar 2191 of the Matuya border outpost under Yashpur BOP in Chhagalnaiya upazila. BGB subsequently detained the group, which included women and children.

During initial questioning, the returnees revealed that they had entered India through Benapole border with the help of human traffickers in search of domestic and other work opportunities.

The process of handing them over to Chhagalnaiya Police Station is currently underway.

Lieutenant Colonel Mohammad Mosharraf Hossain, commanding officer of BGB Battalion-4 in Feni, confirmed the incident, stating that local authorities have been informed and necessary legal procedures are being followed.
