After witnessing a downward trend in the last session, stocks rebounded on Wednesday in the Dhaka and Chittagong stock exchanges as investors remained active on sector-wise issues.

DSEX, the broad index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange, added 37.1 points to settle at 4,777 points as against 4,740 points in the previous trading session.

Market analysts observed that market indices remained upbeat throughout the session as buyers showed renewed interest in the potentially lucrative scrips.

However, trading activities remained stagnant with total turnover in DSE being low at Taka 3.3 billion.

Out of the 397 issues traded, 199 advanced, 110 declined and 88 remained unchanged.

The port city bourse, CSE, also settled on a positive zone. The Selective Categories' Index (CSCX) and All Share Price Index (CASPI) advanced by 15.0 points and 23.8 points, respectively. "BSS
