An auto-rickshaw driver, Idris Ali, 41, was killed in a three-way collision involving a truck, tractor and auto-rickshaw in Joypurhat. Five others, including a woman and a child, were injured in the incident.
The accident took place in the Khanjanpur Mission Moth area of Joypurhat municipality on the Joypurhat-Naogaon road on Sunday after midnight.
The injured are, Masud Hossain, 53, son of Abdu Sobhan, of Bhadsa village in Joypurhat Sadar upazila, Shamim Hossain, 50, son of Solaiman Ali, of the same village, his wife Minu Akhter. 42, Naznin Akhter, 21, and her daughter Niha Akhter, 2.
Joypurhat Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Khandaker Farid Hossain confirmed the matter.
He also said five injured people have been sent to the hospital. The truck was seized, but the driver and helper fled the scene. Legal action is underway.
