Jatiya Party postponed its 10th National Conference originally scheduled for June 28 following the abrupt cancellation of the venue allocation by the authorities of the Bangladesh-China Friendship International Conference Center.
Press Secretary to the Jatiya Party Chairman and a Joint Secretary General of the party Khandaker Delwar Jalal confirming the development said, "Although the hall was previously allocated, the venue authorities have now cancelled the booking due to a budget-related seminar by the Chief Adviser on the same date."
He stated the party only received confirmation of the cancellation from the conference centre recently prompting the immediate postponement of the event.
The conference was set to be held at 11:00am on June 28 at the designated venue, for which formal booking procedures had already been completed by the party. However, due to the overlapping official programme, the allocation has been withdrawn.
Jatiya Party Chairman GM Quader formally communicated the postponement to the Chief Election Commissioner in writing. The party indicated that a new date for the 10th National Conference will be announced once a fresh hall allocation is secured.
