The International Cricket Council (ICC) today officially released the full schedule for the 2025 ICC Women's Cricket World Cup with Bangladesh taking the field on October 2.
The showcase event is set to be held across India and Sri Lanka from September 30 to November 2.
Bangladesh will open the event by taking on subcontinent rivals Pakistan.
The eight-team tournament will kick off with hosts India taking on Sri Lanka in the opening match at Bengaluru on September 30, marking the beginning of the 13th edition of the prestigious 50-over women's global event.
Out of the eight participating teams - hosts India, Australia, England, South Africa, New Zealand and Sri Lanka directly qualified for the event. Meanwhile, Pakistan and Bangladesh earned their ticket to the World Cup through a qualifying tournament.
The competition is a single round-robin format, where each side faces all others once. The top four teams from the league stage will advance to the semi-finals.
After facing off Pakistan in their first match in Colombo on October 2, the Tigresses will take on England in Guwahati on October 7. They will then travel to Vizag for three crucial encounters - against New Zealand on October 10, South Africa on October 13, and defending champions Australia on October 16.
The team will return to Colombo to take on hosts Sri Lanka on October 20, before wrapping up their round-robin campaign with a high-voltage match against hosts India in Bengaluru on October 26.
Matches will be played in five cities: Bengaluru, Vizag, Indore, Guwahati (India), and Colombo (Sri Lanka). The first semi-final will be hosted in either Colombo or Guwahati on October 29, while the other is scheduled to be held in Bengaluru. The Final is on November 2, either in Bengaluru or Colombo. "BSS
