Father-son among 3 killed, 10 injured in Cox’s Bazar bus-covered van collision

Three people, including a father and son, were killed and 10 others injured in a head-on collision between a passenger bus and a covered van at Ramu upazila in Cox’s Bazar on Monday morning.

The accident occurred around 9:00 AM at Jetirghata intersection under Rashidnagar union in the upazila.

The dead were identified as Habib Ullah, 55, and his infant son Riyad, 12, of PMkhali Dakshin Patli area under ​​Cox's Bazar Sadar Upazila and Rimjhim Barua, 23, daughter of Himansu Barua of Ramu Purba Rajarkul area.

Ramu Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Tayebur Rahman confirmed it, stating that the collision left three people dead on the spot and 10 others injured. The injured have been rescued and sent to nearby hospitals for treatment, while the bodies of the deceased have been taken to Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital for autopsy.

Both vehicles involved in the accident have been seized by the authorities. Investigations into the cause of the crash are ongoing.
