11 houses burnt in Chattogram

At least eleven dwelling houses were gutted by fire in Banshkhali Upazila of Chattogram on Friday.

The incident occurred in Headpara area of Ward No. 2 under Shilkoop Union of the upazila at around 2 am.

Local Union Parishad (UP) Member Siddique Akbar Bahadur said that on information, a team from the Banshkhali Fire Service rushed to the scene and brought the blaze under control.
The cause of the fire could not be known immediately, the UP member added.

The affected families claimed that properties worth about Tk 30 lakh were completely destroyed due to the fire.
