Woman dies from snakebite in Kushtia

A woman died after being bitten by a venomous snake in Mirpur Upazila of Kushtia District on Saturday.

The deceased was identified as Shefali Khatun, wife of Abdullah, a resident of Teghoria area under Poradah Union in the upazila.

According to local and the deceased's family sources, Shefali was bitten by a snake early in the morning while she was collecting firewood from a shed to parboil paddy, which left her critically injured.

Shefali Khatun was then rescued by the family members and immediately taken to Kushtia General Hospital, where she died at around 11 am while undergoing treatment.
