Widespread rain accompanied by thunderstorms is likely across Bangladesh, with a slight drop in both day and night temperatures, according to the latest forecast from Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD).

In its bulletin issued on Saturday, the Met Office said that by 6 PM Sunday, many areas in Rangpur, Mymensingh, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions are expected to experience light to moderate rain or thundershowers with temporary gusty winds and lightning.
Some parts of Rajshahi, Dhaka, and Khulna divisions may also see similar weather conditions. Isolated areas across the country could witness moderately heavy rainfall.

The forecast also mentioned that a moderate heatwave is currently sweeping over Dinajpur and Nilphamari, while a mild heatwave is affecting Rajshahi, Pabna, Feni, Patuakhali and parts of the Khulna and Rangpur divisions. This heatwave may ease in some areas.
