Workers of the 'Tottho Apa' project under the Ministry of Women and Children's Affairs continued their protest for the 18th day in front of the National Press Club in Dhaka on Saturday to press home their several demands.
During the protest, they voiced their frustration over the absence of responses from the government to address their demands.
They also threatened to escalate the protest by organising a big gathering in the capital if their initial demands are not immediately met.
Workers of the 'Tottho Apa' project (second stage) are demanding that they would be transferred to the revenue sector by creating posts in the same grade and payment of pending salaries and allowances.
The protesters began their demonstrations on May 28 and continued through Eid-ul-Azha. They resumed their protest at 9 am the following day.
Earlier, they took a position in front of the Chief Advisor's official residence, Jamuna, in Dhaka to press home their demands. Later, they submitted a memorandum to the Chief Advisor.
"We are not begging for mercy from the government. Our demands are logical, said a protester.
