Emirates airline has cancelled multiple flights to and from Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, and Iran following Israeli airstrikes on Iranian targets early Friday, as fears mount over a broader regional escalation.
According to the airline's website, several Friday flights and at least one scheduled flight to Tehran on Saturday were cancelled. The disruptions come amid widespread airspace closures in the region.
Dubai International Airport confirmed the cancellations and delays in a post on platform X, stating, "Some flights at @DXB and DWC – Al Maktoum International have been cancelled or delayed due to airspace closures over Iran, Iraq, and Syria."
The ongoing tensions have prompted airlines across the Gulf and beyond to reassess routes, with further delays and cancellations likely if the situation escalates.
