Floating body found in Rajshahi river

A floating body of a young man was recovered from the Barnoi river at Bagmara upazila in Rajshahi district on Thursday evening.

The deceased was identified as Nazmul Islam, 35, son of Afzal Hossain of Hasnipur village under Ganipur union in the upazila.
According to locals, Nazmul had been missing since Wednesday night. Later, locals found his body floating on the river on Thursday evening and informed police.

Being informed by the locals, police recovered the body and sent it to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital forensic department for an autopsy.

Bagmara Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Touhidul Islam confirmed the incident.
