Kagiso Rabada mounted a spirited fightback after taking two back to back wickets in the second session of Day 2 of the ICC World Test Championship Final at Lord's.
At the tea break, Australia's second innings stands at 32/2, pushing their total lead to 106 runs.
However, it was South Africa's pace spearhead, Kagiso Rabada who provided the much-needed breakthroughs.
Unleashing a fiery spell with the new ball in Australia's second innings, Rabada struck twice in quick succession.
In the 11th over of the innings, he first removed opener Usman Khawaja, 6, finding his outside edge, and then followed it up almost immediately by dismissing Cameron Green, 0, who edged a delivery outside off-stump.
This double strike sent tremors through the Australian top order and brought the Proteas right back into contention, pegging Australia back at 28/2.
Opener Marnus Labuschagne is now on 16* and Steven Smith is on 4*, will start the final session of the day to take the lead as high as possible.
