SIRAJGANJ, June 12: Police recovered the throat-slit body of a housewife in Raiganj Upazila of the district on Thursday.
The body was recovered at around 8:30 am from Erandah Village under Nalka Union of the upazila.
The deceased was identified as Rozina Khatun, 30, wife of Abdul Motaleb of that village.
However, the housewife's husband is absconding after the incident.
Locals said that the neighbours became suspicious as Rozina did not wake up in the morning and the door of the house was locked from the outside. Later on, they opened the door and saw her blood-stained throat-slit body and informed the police.
Being informed, police recovered the body from the scene and sent it to Sirajganj Shaheed M Mansur Ali Medical College Hospital morgue for an autopsy.
Sub-Inspector of Salanga Police Station Shariful Alam confirmed the incident, adding that legal action would be taken in this regard.
