Youth crushed under train at Kamalganj

KAMALGANJ, MOULVIBAZAR, June 12: A young man was crushed under a train in Kamalganj Upazila of the district on Wednesday afternoon.

The accident took place in Lawachhara National Park area at around 5 pm.

The deceased was identified as Shahin Mia, 30, son of Bazid Mia, a resident of Adhkani Village under Adampur Union.
It was known that the Sylhet-bound Joyantika Express intercity train from Dhaka hit Shahin while he was trying to cross the railway line, which left him critically injured.

Locals rescued him, but he died on the way to Sreemangal Upazila Health Complex. Officer-in-Charge (Investigation) of Kamalganj Police Station Shamim Akanjee confirmed the incident, adding that necessary steps would be taken in this connection.
