Bangladesh has reported 10 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours, reflecting a slight uptick in infections, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
However, no new deaths were recorded during this period.
The update was shared in the DGHS's latest COVID-19 bulletin, released Wednesday afternoon.
With the latest cases, the country’s total number of confirmed infections has reached 2,051,770. During the same period, 2 patients recovered, raising the total number of recoveries to 2,019,380.
A total of 107 samples were tested in the past 24 hours, with a daily positivity rate of 9.35%. Since the pandemic began, Bangladesh has conducted 15,726,486 COVID-19 tests.
The country’s overall positivity rate stands at 13.05%, while the recovery rate is 98.42% and the fatality rate remains at 1.44%.
Bangladesh last reported a COVID-related death on July 26, 2024. Since then, there have been no new fatalities.
The virus was first detected in Bangladesh on March 8, 2020, with the first death reported on March 18 of the same year.
