Bangladesh recorded three new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours after testing four individuals.
This brings the country’s total number of confirmed cases to 2,051,742.
No new deaths were reported during this period. The overall COVID-19 death toll in Bangladesh remains unchanged.
The test positivity rate over the past 24 hours stood at a striking 75%, though the small number of tests conducted makes it statistically less representative. Since the onset of the pandemic, the country’s cumulative test positivity rate stands at 13.05%.
Bangladesh reported its first three confirmed COVID-19 cases on March 8, 2020. The first coronavirus-related death in the country was recorded ten days later, on March 18, 2020. The deadliest days of the pandemic in Bangladesh occurred on August 5 and 10, 2021, when 264 deaths were reported on each day.
