The National Citizens' Party (NCP) has urged Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus to declare all elections held during the Awami League's tenure illegal. The party has also called for a comprehensive roadmap combining justice for the July genocide, reforms, and the Constituent Assembly election.

NCP Convener Nahid Islam made the statement to reporters after a meeting with Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus at his residence Jamuna on Saturday night. He spoke to the media around 10:10 pm following the discussion.

Nahid Islam said, "We have formally asked for all national and local elections held during Sheikh Hasina's tenure to be declared illegal. During that period, Sheikh Hasina conducted elections under a fascist regime and deprived people of their right to vote. There were midnight ballots and dummy candidates, while votes were cast in favor of the-then ruling party's nominees. These elections remain questionable."

He added, "As a political party, we cannot trust the current Election Commission. Therefore, we have demanded that it be restructured and that local government elections be arranged promptly under a newly formed commission."

Nahid Islam also urged the Chief Adviser to promptly publish the July Proclamation and demanded the formation of a Constituent Assembly.

Criticizing BNP's demand for the resignation of student advisers, he said, "We've already made it clear that NCP has no connection with them. They became part of the government as representatives of the July uprising. Asking for their resignation is politically motivated."

He also said, "The rehabilitation process for the families of martyrs and injured individuals from the July uprising is progressing slowly. The promised savings certificates from the Department of Mass Uprising have yet to reach many families. We've urged the government to ensure that all promised financial assistance and rehabilitation measures are fulfilled promptly."

A delegation from NCP, led by Nahid Islam, met with the Chief Adviser at Jamuna at 8:30 pm. The delegation included Joint Member Secretary Mushfiq-us-Salehin, Chief Organizer Hasnat Abdullah, and Senior Joint Secretary Tasnim Zara.

Earlier in the evening, Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus held a meeting with BNP at the state guest house in Jamuna. He was also scheduled to meet Jamaat-e-Islami later that night.

On Sunday evening, the Chief Adviser will meet with representatives of eight political and religious groups, including Hefazat-e-Islam Bangladesh, Islami Andolon Bangladesh, and Gono Odhikar Parishad, at his official residence in Jamuna.
