The much-anticipated Cool-BSJA Media Cup Football Tournament is set to commence this Monday, featuring 32 media houses competing in an exciting knockout format.
The participating teams have been divided into eight groups, with each group consisting of four teams. Only the group champions will advance to the quarter-finals, from where the tournament will proceed through the semi-finals and culminate in the final match on 31 May. All matches are scheduled to be held at the Paltan Ground, adjacent to the Dhaka Stadium.
Details of the tournament were unveiled on Saturday at a press conference held at the Bangladesh Olympic Association auditorium. The event also featured the official draw, groupings, and the unveiling of the tournament trophy and team jerseys.
Prominent personalities included former national footballer and current head coach of Mohammedan Sporting Club, Alfaz Ahmed and Head of Marketing at Square Toiletries Ltd. Dr Jasmin Zaman were present at the press conference. BSJA President Arifur Rahman Babu, General Secretary S.M. Suman, Tournament Committee Convenor Raihan Al Mughni, Member Secretary Yasin Hasan Rabbi, and BSJA Joint Secretary Arafat Zubayer were also there.
With fierce competition and spirited sportsmanship expected, the Cool-BSJA Media Cup promises to be a thrilling showcase of football among Bangladesh's leading media houses.
