BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi on Friday announced that if his party assumes power, the state will take full responsibility for the families of those killed or injured during the July-August movement.

Speaking to reporters after visiting the family of Arman Molla, who was killed during a mass protest involving students and locals in Chouya area of Meherpara union of Narsingdi Sadar upazila, Rizvi emphasized the moral obligation of those now benefitting from the movement's legacy.
"Those who have gained positions of influence whether as advisors or founders of political parties should pay greater attention to the families of the martyrs," he said.

Rizvi criticized the interim government for failing to maintain a record of those who lost their lives during the movement.
