As per government directives, all government offices will remain open on Saturday (May 24).
Earlier, in a meeting of the Advisory Council held on May 6 at the Secretariat, an executive order was issued declaring June 11 and 12 (Wednesday and Thursday) as holidays. Additionally, it was decided that government offices would remain open on two Saturdays prior to Eid.
Due to the executive order granting two extra holidays, government employees will enjoy a total of 10 consecutive days of vacation during the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha. The holiday will begin on June 5 and end on June 14.
According to the decision made in the Advisory Council meeting on May 7, the Ministry of Public Administration issued a notification declaring June 11 and 12 as holidays by executive order on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha.
The notification also stated that offices will remain open on May 17 and May 24 (Saturdays), despite being regular weekly holidays.
It also mentioned that essential services—such as electricity, water, gas and other fuels, fire service, port activities, sanitation services, telephone and internet, postal services, and related transportation and personnel—will remain outside the purview of the holidays.
Hospitals and emergency services, along with associated personnel, will also remain outside the purview of the holidays. This includes medical staff and vehicles transporting medicines and medical equipment.
Furthermore, offices involved in emergency operations will remain functional during this holiday period.
