PIROJPUR, May 23: Police recovered the body of a minor girl from her grandfather's house in Sadar Upazila of the district on Thursday evening.
The deceased was identified as Ayesha Akhter, 8, daughter of Alam Sheikh, a resident of Tona Village in the upazila.
It was known that Ayesha's body was found at her grandfather's house in the area in the evening.
Being informed, police recovered the body from the scene and sent it to Pirojpur Sadar Hospital morgue for an autopsy.
The body bore injury marks on its nose and ear.
Officer-in-Charge of Pirojpur Sadar Police Station (PS) Rabiul Islam confirmed the incident, adding that the law enforcers are investigating the matter and the actual reason behind her death would be known after getting the autopsy report.
Primarily, an unnatural case was filed with the PS in the connection, the OC added.
