2 held in Gopalganj over 27 cases

Police arrested two alleged kidnappers on Thursday, who together faced 27 different charges in Gopalganj Police Station.

The arrests were made during a late-night operation near Azim Bazar at Gimadanga village under Tungipara upazila.
The arrested individuals are Tahin Sheikh (26), a resident of Gojalia village under Borni union and Hamim Sheikh, 23, from Gimadanga village in the same upazila.

Tahin faces total 15 cases and Hamim, total 12 cases, including kidnapping, robbery, theft, and smugging at both Tungipara and Sadar Police Stations.

Confirming the incident, Tungipara Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Khorshed Alam said that acting on a tip-off a team of police conducted a raid at Gimadanga village and arrested the accused.

Both suspects were sent to jail via court order on Friday afternoon, the OC added.
