Storms likely in 7 regions by noon

Bangladesh Meteorological Department has issued a warning indicating that seven regions of the country may experience storms with wind speeds of up to 60 kilometers per hour by noon on Friday.

According to a special weather bulletin released early Friday for river ports, temporary gusty or squally winds originating from the west or northwest at speeds between 45 to 60 km/h may sweep across regions of Khulna, Barishal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Cumilla, Chattogram and Cox's Bazar. These conditions may be accompanied by rain or thunderstorms.

As a precaution, river ports in these areas have been advised to hoist cautionary signal number one.
