Police recovered the hanging body of a 55-year-old woman at Kendua upazila in Netrokona on Thursday afternoon.
The body was found hanging from a tree branch at Chandralara village under Garadoba union of the upazila.
The dead Anwara, wife of Maksud Ali, was a resident of Chandralara village of the upazila.
According to locals, the body was found hanging from a tree near a canal. They immediately informed Kendua Police Station.
In response, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) of Kendua Circle, Md. Golam Mostafa, and Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kendua Police Station, Mizanur Rahman, arrived at the scene with a police team and recovered the body.
According to the family of the dead, Anwara had been suffering from mental health issues since the death of her elder son, Md. Khairul Islam, about a year ago. On Wednesday morning, she left home after breakfast around 7:00 AM and did not return. Her family had been searching for her.
OC Mizanur Rahman stated that legal steps are under way in this regard.
