Three murdered in three districts

Three people were murdered in separate incidents in three districts - Chattogram, Sirajganj and Dhaka.
CHATTOGRAM: A college student, who was stabbed by a juvenile gang in Halishahar Police Station (PS) area in the city, died at Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH) on Wednesday night.
Deceased Wahidul Haque Sabbir, 18, was a first-year HSC student of Ideal Technical School and College.
It was known that on May 16, after the Jumma prayers, one Abid called him and took him to Notun Bazar Bishwa Road area of Halishahar, where he was stabbed. Later on, Sabbir was rescued in a critical condition and admitted to the CMCH. After six days, he succumbed to his injuries there while undergoing treatment.
A case was filed with Halishahar PS in this connection.
Police, however, arrested a person for his alleged involvement in the killing. Halishahar PS Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Moniruzzaman confirmed the incident, adding that the law enforcers are trying to nab the rest accused.
SIRAJGANJ: An elderly man was killed by robbers in Chauhali Upazila of the district on Wednesday.
The incident took place at a seasonal farm in Muradpur area of the upazila at around 12 am.
Deceased Tara Mia, son of late Quddus Mia, was a resident of Pashchim Jotpara Village under Khaskawlia Union in the upazila.
Chauhali PS OC Shakhawat Hossain said that Tara Mia along with his grandson Md Ibrahim was staying at a room in a farm temporarily on Tuesday night. At that time, a group of 12 robbers entered the farm and looted four caws.
As Tara Mia protested this, the robbers killed him. Ibrahim was also beaten up by them.
Being informed, police recovered the body.
However, legal action would be taken in this connection, the OC added.
SAVAR, DHAKA: A young man was shot dead in public in Savar Upazila of the district on Monday night.
The murder took place at around 9:30 pm in front of the house of former MP Dr Dewan Mohammad Salauddin Babu.
Deceased Md Shahin, 30, was the son of Md Kabir Hossain of Baliyapur Kotapara area in the upazila.
Though locals confirmed that he was shot to death, they could not give any reason behind the killing.

Savar Model PS OC Mohammad Jewel Mia said that upon receiving news, police rushed to the scene.
The law enforcers are investigating the matter, the OC added.
