Bangladesh Railway has instructed all its officials and employees to remain vigilant to ensure a safe and smooth Eid journey for homebound passengers.

The directive came during a meeting held at Kamalapur Railway Station on Thursday, chaired by Railways Ministry Secretary Md Fahimul Islam. With large numbers of people expected to travel from Dhaka and other major cities ahead of Eid, officials were asked to prioritize the safety and security of both passengers and trains, BSS reports.
Bangladesh Railway Director General Md Afzal Hossain and other senior officials attended the meeting.

Special emphasis was placed on preventing ticketless travel. Members of the Railway Nirapatta Bahini (RNB) were directed to ensure that no one boards trains without a valid ticket. The authorities were also instructed to take strict measures against black marketing of tickets and to stop passengers from travelling on train rooftops.

To curb irregularities, the meeting announced that mobile courts will be deployed at key stations starting June 1.
