Around 100 acres of land of the Water Development Board (WDB) has been recovered from illegal occupiers at Mirpur in the city through an eviction drive on Wednesday.

The land was recovered at Goran-Chatbari in Mirpur by evicting illegal establishments from the land of WDB for flood control embankment, reports UNB.
Led by an executive magistrate from the Dhaka district administration, the drive was carried out in coordination with WDB officials, police and members of the Bangladesh Army on Wednesday.

During the operation, illegal structures were demolished along the flood control embankment from Panchabati to Goran-Chatbari area.

Such drives will continue until all illegally occupied lands of the WDB are cleared, said a PID handout.
