Two siblings drown in Chandpur pond

Two siblings drowned in a pond in Chandpur's Haimchar upazila on Thursday morning (May 22)

The incident took place at Uttar Bagula village under Char Bhairabi union of the upazila
The victims have been identified as Ibrahim, 4, and Foyzia, 2, son and daughter of Harunur Rashid Hawlader of that village.

According to the family, the two children were playing in the yard of their home in the morning. At that time, they fell into a nearby pond. Family members began searching for the children. Eventually, both children were found unconscious in the water. They were rushed to Haimchar Upazila Health Complex where doctors pronounced them dead.

Haimchar Police Station inspector Shah Alam confirmed the news.
