Police have arrested three more individuals suspected of involvement in murder of Shahriar Alam Shammo, a leader of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) at Dhaka University.
They were arrested on Tuesday night, May 20.
However, names and identities of those arrested have not been disclosed yet.
Earlier, on May 14, three individuals were arrested in connection with Shammo murder case from Sher-e-Bangla Nagar area of the capital. The next day, court granted their remand and sent them to jail.
Those three accused are Md Tamim Hawlader, 30, from Madaripur Sadar; Palash Sardar, 30, and Samrat Mallik, 28, from Dasar upazila of Madaripur district.
Shahriar Alam Shammo, 25, a student of 2018–19 academic sessions of Institute of Education and Research (IER) department at DU was stabbed to death at Suhrawardi Udyan area, adjacent to the campus Tuesday night (13 May).
Following the incident, Shammo’s elder brother, Shariful Islam, filed a murder case at Shahbagh Police Station in the capital.
