Jatiya Nagorik Party (NCP) has issued a show cause notice to senior joint chief coordinator Abdul Hannan Masud for securing release of three persons detained by Dhanmondi Police.
The party's joint member secretary Saleh Uddin Sifat signed the notice demanding
written explanation within three days.
Masud must justify to
Disciplinary Committee Head "why organisational action should not be
taken" against him.
The notice was issued from NCP's temporary headquarters at Rupayan Trade
Centre in the capital's Banglamotor. The matter highlights growing tensions
within party ranks regarding support for controversial figures.
Police detained three individuals on Tuesday from Dhanmondi residential area for allegedly creating unrest whilst claiming to be "coordinators".
Notable among detainees was Saiful Islam Rabbi, former convener of Mohammadpur Thana unit Anti-discrimination Students Movement (ADSM), previously dismissed by central committee over ethical misconduct.
Masud reportedly appeared at police station and submitted bail bonds, leading to their release.
Party leadership expects thorough response addressing both procedural violations and strategic implications of Masud's actions before determining appropriate measures.
