Two people were killed in separate wild elephant attacks within an hour and a half at Jhenaigati upazila in Sherpur.

The incidents occurred around 8:30 PM on Tuesday in two different locations — Dorbeshchala and Gajni Chourasta intersection.
The victims have been identified as Azizur Rahman Akash, 45, a farmer from Dorbeshchala, and Philis Marak, 42, a Garo laborer from Gajni area.

Jhenaigati Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Al-Amin confirmed the incidents. He stated that wild elephants descended from the hills into local villages in search of food. While trying to protect their ripe Boro paddy fields, the victims were attacked by the enraged elephants.

Both were fatally trampled and died.
