Six men and a woman were found dead in separate incidents in seven districts - Naogaon, Mymensingh, Madaripur, Rajbari, Rajshahi, Sunamganj and Bagerhat.
PORSHA, NAOGAON: Police recovered the body of a woman from a local tea stall in Porsha Upazila of the district on Monday.
The identity of the deceased, aged about 53, could not be known immediately.
It was known that local people spotted the body of the woman lying on the floor of a tea stall owned by one Nilton at Bandhupara intersection under Chhaor Union of the upazila in the morning and informed the matter to the police.
Being informed, police recovered the body from the scene and sent it Naogaon Sadar Hospital morgue for an autopsy.
Police assumed that the woman might have died some time on Sunday night.
Sub-Inspector of Porsha Police Station (PS) Gausul Azam confirmed the incident, saying that the actual reason behind her death would be known after getting the autopsy report.
However, an unnatural death case was filed with the PS in this regard.
GAFARGAON, MYMENSINGH: Police recovered a carpenter's hanging body in Gafargaon Upazila of the district on Monday afternoon.
The incident occurred at Faridpur Village under Longair Union in the upazila.
The deceased was identified as Bijoy, 25, son of Md Rob Mia a resident of the same area.
According to locals, Bijoy got married two years ago and was facing various family discord in his married life.
Following a marital quarrel, he left the house on that day. Later, the carpenter allegedly hanged himself with a tree near his residence.
Subsequently, locals found his body hanging on the tree and informed Pagla PS.
Upon receiving information, the police arrived at the scene, recovered the body, and sent it to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital for an autopsy.
Confirming the incident, Pagla PS officer-in-charge (OC) Ferdous Ahmed said that the body has been recovered and necessary steps are being taken.
MADARIPUR: Police recovered the body of a young man from the Arial Khan River in Sadar Upazila of the district on Sunday, after two days of his missing.
The deceased was identified as Sumon Sipahi, 25, son of Kalu Sipahi, a resident of Baherchar Katla area in the upazila.
It was known that some youths rented a trawler for a picnic and visited different areas of the Arial Khan River on Friday.
On the way back at night, the picnic trawler sank after being hit by a sand-laden bulkhead coming from the opposite direction in Baherchar Katla area. Sumon went missing in the river at that time.
After two days of the incident, locals recovered Sumon's body from the Rajachar area of Sadar Upazila on Sunday morning.
Madaripur Fire Service and Civil Defence Official Md Sheikh Ahaduzzaman confirmed the incident.
RAJBARI: Police recovered the floating body of a man from the Padma River in Goalanda Upazila of the district on Saturday night.
The identity of the deceased, aged about 40 to 45, could not be known immediately.
It was known that locals spotted the body of the man floating in the river adjacent to Daulatdia No. 5 Ferry Ghat in the evening and informed the matter to the River Police.
Being informed, River Police recovered the body at night and sent it to Rajbari Sadar Hospital morgue for an autopsy.
The body bore no injury marks.
Police assumed that he might have fallen from any launch accidentally the previous night and drowned in the river.
Goalanda Naval Police Outpost OC Sreenath Saha confirmed the incident, adding that the law enforcers are trying to identify the deceased.
RAJSHAHI: Police recovered the decomposed body of a youth wrapped in a sack from the Shib River in Tanore Upazila of the district on Saturday after 20 days of his missing.
The deceased was identified as Chittaranjan Pal, 27, son of Sree Monoranjan Pal, a resident of Kaliganj Habibnagar Palpara Village under Tanore Municipality.
It was known that local people spotted the decomposed body of a youth severed from its head and wrapped in a sack inside water hyacinth in the Shib River at around 7 am and informed the police.
Being informed, police recovered the body and sent it to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital morgue for an autopsy.
The deceased was, later, identified as Chittaranjan Pal, who had been missing for the last 20 days.
Locals and the deceased's family sources said that Chittaranjan had a love affair with Kamona Rani, 25, daughter of Sree Swapon Pal of the village. After knowing the matter, the two families refused their relationship and locked into a dispute. Later on, Chittaranjan went out of the house on April 26 last, and had missing since then.
His father lodged a general diary with Tanore PS in this connection.
He might have been murdered over his love affair, alleged the deceased's family members.
However, police arrested Kamona's parents for questioning while Kamona and her brother went into hiding.
Tanore PS OC Afzal Hossain confirmed the incident, adding that legal action would be taken in this regard.
JAGANNATHPUR, SUNAMGANJ: Police recovered the body of a young man from a cropland in Jagannathpur Upazila of the district on Friday afternoon.
Later on, the body was sent to Sunamganj Sadar Hospital morgue for an autopsy on Saturday.
The deceased was identified as Syedul Islam, 24, son of Yunus Mia, a resident of Megharkandi Village in the upazila.
It was known that Syedul went to cut grass from a cropland in Royail Village under Raniganj Union at around 10 am on Friday, but did not return.
In the afternoon, locals spotted his throat-slit body at the cropland and informed the police.
The body bore several injury marks on its different parts.
Jagannathpur PS OC Mahfuz Imtiaz Bhuiyan confirmed the incident, adding that the law enforcers are trying to arrest those involved in the killing.
BAGERHAT: The hanging body of a youth was recovered in Mollahat Upazila of the district on Friday.
However, the family members of the deceased alleged that it was a pre-planned murder.
The deceased was identified as Goni Sheikh, 25, son of late Rikat Sheikh of Charkandi Village under Gangni Union in the upazila.
The deceased's mother said, "I was informed that Goni was sick. Being informed, I rushed here and found him dead. Later, they told me that Goni has committed suicide. As Goni's body bore multiple injury marks, I reckon it as a pre-planned murder."
The deceased's brother Jakaria Sheikh said, "Jaber Sheikh and Lowab Sardar called Goni out of the house. Later at night, we found him dead."
Claiming the same, Goni's wife demanded exemplary punishment for those involved in the murder.
Mollarhat PS OC Shafiqul Islam confirmed the incident, saying that the body was sent to Bagerhat General Hospital morgue for an autopsy.
Primarily, an unnatural death case was filed with the PS and the law enforcers are investigating the matter, the OC added.
