Two minors drown in Cumilla pond

CUMILLA, May 20: Two minor children tragically drowned in a rainwater-filled pond in the district's Brahmanpara Upazila on Tuesday.
The incident happened at Ramchandrapur Village under Chandala Union in the afternoon.
The victims have been identified as Jihad, 5, son of Jalil Mia from that area, and Raihan, 3, son of Rubel Mia from Chowara in Cumilla Sadar Dakshin Upazila. Raihan was visiting his maternal grandparents' house. The two children were relatives.
The children were playing in the yard earlier in the day. Later on the children were found unconscious in a nearby pond.
They were rushed to Brahmanpara Upazila Health Complex where doctors declared them dead.
