The Bangladesh Meteorology Department (BMD) has forecasted light to moderate rain or thundershowers in various parts of the country over the next 24 hours, starting from 9am today.
According to the BMD bulletin, light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by lightning and temporary gusty winds are expected at many places in Rangpur, Mymensingh, and Sylhet divisions. A few places in Rajshahi and Dhaka divisions and one or two spots in Khulna, Barishal, and Chattogram divisions may also experience rainfall. Moderately heavy to heavy falls are likely in parts of Rangpur, Mymensingh, and Sylhet.
The forecast added that a trough of low pressure lies over West Bengal extending to the North Bay across the southwestern part of Bangladesh.
Day and night temperatures are likely to remain nearly unchanged across the country.
The highest temperature recorded on Monday was 36.2 degrees Celsius in Jashore, while the lowest temperature recorded today was 21.6 degrees Celsius in Sayedpur. Rangpur received the highest rainfall in the past 24 hours till 6am today, with 118 millimeters.
