Ex-MP Laila Parveen Senjuti arrested in Satkhira

Police have arrested Laila Parveen Senjuti, former Member of Parliament from a reserved women's seat and Education and Human Resources Secretary of Satkhira District Awami League.

She was detained from her residence in Satkhira town around 2:30 AM on Tuesday (May 20), police confirmed.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Satkhira Sadar Police Station, Shaminul Haque, stated that she was arrested in connection with a case filed under the Special Powers Act of 1974, sections 15(3)/25D. The case is registered as No. 25 (18/02/25) with Satkhira Sadar Police Station.

Senjuti has been produced before the court following her arrest. Further details regarding the case or allegations have not yet been disclosed.
