The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) today issued national all-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to take part in the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL).
Miraz who was roped in by Lahore Qalandars was granted NOC to play in PSL from May 22-25.
"BCB has granted Miraz the NOC to participate in the PSL from May 22-25 for Lahore Qalandars," BCB's cricket operations in-charge Shahriar Nafees said on Monday.
Miraz was not included in Bangladesh's squad for the T20 International series against the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Pakistan, making him available for the full tournament.
"Of course it is exciting for me to join Lahore Qalandars," Mehidy said.
"It is technically the second time I have got a call-up to a franchise league. Nonetheless, it is a good opportunity for me to compete at a very high level. PSL is one of the top tournaments going around. I have done well in the past in the BPL, so I am confident that I can give my best," he added.
The all-rounder also revealed his desire to use this stint to make a case for his return to Bangladesh's T20I squad.
Lahore Qalandars had already secured their place in the Qualifiers after Sunday's win over Peshawar Zalmi by 26 runs. He will join compatriot Shakib Al Hasan who played his first match for Qalandars on the day. Shakib was dismissed for a duck and conceded 18 runs in the two overs he bowled.
Legspinner Rishad Hossain and fast bowler Nahid Rana earlier played in the PSL before joining the Bangladesh national team for the UAE T20 series.
Lahore Qalandars will play the Eliminator game in Lahore on Thursday. Their opponent is yet to be decided. "BSS
