Dhaka University will deploy proctorial team members in two shifts at three female students' residential halls to boost security, following a decision made at a meeting chaired by Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Niaz Ahmad Khan.
He said, "We have limitations, but campus security is improving steadily. We are taking stricter measures to ensure students' safety and seek everyone's cooperation in this regard."
On Monday, Forrukh Mahmud, Deputy Director, Public Relations Office confirmed this through official press release.
Two members of proctorial team will be stationed in front of Kabi Sufia Kamal Hall, Bangladesh-Kuwait Maitree Hall and Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib Hall during morning (6:00-9:00 AM) and evening (6:00-10:00 PM) shifts to ensure female students' safety and unhindered movement.
University administration plans to display dedicated mobile contact numbers of Proctor's Office at gates of these three halls, enabling students to seek assistance when needed.
Administration will send official letter to senior law enforcement authorities requesting deployment of police patrol vehicles in front of these halls soon.
