Lightning kills two in Sherpur, Kishoreganj

Two farmers were killed by lightning strikes in separate incidents in two districts - Sherpur and Kishoreganj.
SHERPUR: A farmer was killed after being struck by lightning in Sadar Upazila of the district on Friday.
The deceased was identified as Sujon Mia, 23, son of late Akter Ali of Lakshmidangri Beparibari Village under Bhelua Union in the upazila.
According to local sources, Sujon was harvesting paddy at a field near his house. 
While returning home, thunderbolt struck him, leaving him critically injured.
Later on, locals rescued the injured and took him to Sherpur Sadar Hospital, where the on-duty doctor declared him dead.
Being informed, police visited the scene.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sherpur Sadar Police Station (PS) Md Emdadul Haque confirmed the incident.
KISHOREGANJ: A farmer was killed by lightning strike in Itna Upazila of the district on Friday.
The deceased was identified as Nirodh Das, 55, son of late Bisnu Doyal Das, a resident of Doilong Noyahati Village under Dhonpur Union in the upazila.
Police and local sources said that Nirodh Das was working in a paddy field in the area. Thunderbolt struck him at around 2 pm, which left him dead on the spot.
Itna PS OC Jafar Iqbal confirmed the incident.
