79 more dengue cases reported in 24hrs

Seventy seven more dengue patients were hospitalized across the country in the 24 hours till Saturday morning.

With the new cases, the total number of cases rose to 3,666 this year. As no death was reported during the period, the number of total fatalities remained at 22.

"During the period, 18 were reported in Dhaka division, 40 in Barishal division (excluding BCC area), 14 in Chattogram division (excluding CCC area), six in Khulna division (excluding KCC area), and one in Sylhet division (excluding SCC area), according to a press release from the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) today.

Last year, dengue claimed the lives of 575 people.

According to the DGHS, there were 101,214 dengue cases and 100,040 recoveries in 2024.
