Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Saturday conducted a fresh raid on Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) headquarters in Mirpur, just a month after a similar operation, as part of an ongoing investigation into alleged irregularities and corruption.

A four-member ACC team arrived at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium around 1pm.
This follows a previous raid by a three-member special ACC team, which looked into alleged irregularities in Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) ticket sales and other issues.

According to sources, the latest operation seeks to investigate a number of concerns, including alleged constitutional violations within the BCB, the legitimacy of the current board, irregularities in the third-division league selection process during the tenure of a former president and financial corruption allegations against current BCB President Faruq Ahmed.

Following the earlier raid, ACC officials said they found discrepancies in income and expenditure related to Mujib Borsho (Mujib Year) events organised by the BCB.

Relevant documents were collected during that visit, and a report was expected to be submitted to the ACC's Enforcement Unit for further action.

Complaints over the selection process in the third-division cricket league are also being examined, sources added.

No official statement has yet been released regarding Saturday’s operation.
