Zahirul Islam (Dalton Zahir), a well-known face of Bangladesh's tourism and hospitality sector, has been elected as the President of Portugal and Head of Europe of the International Ecotourism Society for the period 2025-2028.
Vilma D. C. Mendoza, CEO of Mart Evers, founder of The International Ecotourism Society Philippines Inc. She signs the letter and appoints Dalton Zahir to the position with international committee, said a press release issued on Sunday.
He has 23 years of experience in hospitality, tourism, public relations, media, International and Multinational organizations working experience and experts of communications, branding, sales, marketing, operations and Business setup globally .
Mohammad Zahirul Islam alias Dalton Zahir the Co-Chairman of the Standing Committee on Civil Aviation and Tourism of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI). Zahir, also a director of Tourism Developers Association of Bangladesh (TDAB).
He is the founder and CEO of Traveller Key, Europe Key, Traveller Times, Welcome Bangladesh and World Vacation Club.
Zahir worked as Head of Sales and Marketing of BRAC Services Ltd (BSL), the management of BSL said in a statement.
He also served at Rose View Hotel, Sylhet. He also worked for Grand Sultan Tea Resort and Golf, Ocean Paradise, Lakeshore Hotel, Motorola Mobile, Apple Computer, Philips Mobile, and Fujifilm Digital Camera Distribution for Bangladesh (Jel Corp HQ in Singapore).
