Dhaka University (DU) launched initiative to simplify undergraduate admissions, eliminating queues and streamlining fee payments from 2024-2025 academic year.
Md. Rafiqul Islam, Acting Director of Public Relations Office at University of Dhaka, confirmed these developments in official notice released on Tuesday.
Students entering first-year undergraduate programmes will now pay departmental, institute and hall security deposits online or directly at respective offices, following a decision made during February 25 meeting chaired by Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration) Professor Dr Sayema Haque Bidisha.
This unprecedented move aims to reduce significant inconvenience previously experienced by students who had to queue at banks to make payments. Complete fee information will be accessible via university's online admission portal.
University authorities have already instructed all departments, institutes and halls to implement necessary measures through internal communications.
