Farmer killed by lightning strike in Ctg

A farmer lost his life after being struck by lightning while working in his vegetable field in Banskhali upazila of Chattogram this morning.

The victim, Md Feroz, 60, was a resident of Purba Shilkup Khetkhola in Shilkup Union and the son of the late Yakub.

According to police sources, Feroz was planting flowers in his kankrol field when a sudden lightning strike hit him around 9 am. Locals immediately took him to the Banskhali Upazila Health Complex, where doctors pronounced him dead upon arrival.

Inspector (Investigation) Sudhangshu Shekhar Halder of Banskhali Police Station confirmed the incident and said a general diary will be filed regarding the death.
