Youth dies as damaged jeep falls on him

LOHAGARA, CHATTOGRAM, May 12: The helper of a jeep died as the vehicle fell on him while he was repairing it in Lohagara Upazila of the district on Sunday.

The incident took place in Pashchim Kolaujan Bangla Bazar area under the upazila.

The deceased was identified as Muhammad Tarequl Islam, 23, son of late Nurul Kabir, a resident of Ward No. 6 Pahchanda area under Putibila Union in the upazila.

Local sources said that one of the wheels of a jeep got damaged suddenly beside Bahadur Para Bricks Field near Bangla Bazar at noon.

The helper of jeep Tarequl was trying to repair it. At one stage, the vehicle fell on him accidentally, which left him dead on the spot.

Being informed, police recovered the body and handed it over to the deceased's family following legal procedure.
Officer-in-Charge of Lohagara Police Station Arifur Rahman confirmed the incident.
