Two people killed in road mishaps in Tangail, Satkhira

A minor child and a man were killed in separate road accidents in two districts - Tangail and Satkhira.

TANGAIL: A schoolboy was killed in a road accident in Kulia Jamalpur Mosque Road area under Ghatail Upazila of the district on Monday.

The deceased was identified as Al Amin, 6, son of the late Mahmud Ali, a resident of Khilpara Village in the upazila. He was a first grader at Birahimpur Government Primary School.

It was known that the accident occurred at around 11:30 am when a battery-run auto-rickshaw hit the boy from behind while he was crossing the road.

Critically injured Al Amin was then rescued and taken to Ghatail Upazila Health Complex, where the on-duty doctor declared him dead.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Ghatail Police Station (PS) Md Rakibul Islam confirmed the incident, saying the body was handed over to his family.

SATKHIRA: A tragic road accident in Debhata Upazila of the district claimed the life of a motorcyclist on Monday.

The deceased was identified as Abdur Rahman, 35, son of Jumman Gazi, a resident of Komarpur Village in the same upazila.

Satkhira Sadar PS OC Saminul Haque said a brick-laden trolley coming from the opposite direction collided head-on with Rahman's motorcycle in Kulia area on the Kulia-Komarpur road at around 11 am, which left him severely injured.

Locals quickly came to his aid and rushed him to Satkhira Medical College Hospital, where the on-duty doctors pronounced him dead upon arrival.
