Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has requested not to create obstacles in vehicle movement by blocking roads.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) of the DMP's Media and Public Relations Division, Muhammad Talebur Rahman made the request to the public through an SMS sent to the media on Monday (May 12).

Road blockades in the capital any time in the name of various demands, protest programs, etc., causing severe traffic congestion.
The blockades are causing various 'inconveniences' for school, college and university students as well as those commuting to work, it said.

The DMP also said that the travel of foreign-bound travellers and sick patients in urgent need are being 'seriously disrupted'.

However, incidents of road blockades for no reason are causing widespread public suffering.
