Ctg Jamaat leader AJM Obaidullah passes away

Renowned cultural activist, writer, and former president of Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir, Dr AJM Obaidullah, passed away at 12:50 am Saturday night at a private hospital in Chattogram.

Dr. Obaidullah, born in Charfassion, Bhola, studied at Chattogram and Dhaka University and completed a Commonwealth Executive MBA. In 2022, he earned a PhD from Islamic University, Kushtia. He served as founding registrar and later director at International Islamic University Chittagong.

Dr. Obaidullah was known as a motivational speaker and served as a central leader of Jamaat-e-Islami and Nayeb-e-Ameer of its Chattogram metropolitan unit. He was also the editor of 'Ongikar Digest' and chief editor of 'Wheel Business Magazine'. His notable books include 'Torun Tomar Jonno' and 'Swopner Thikana'.
