Jamaat-e-Islami Bangla-desh expressed full solidarity with the students and citizens’ demand to ban the Awami League as "a people's movement".

Advocate Matiur Rahman Akand, Secretary of the party's Publicity and Media Department and Central Executive Council member, said, "Jamaat is a part of the people. We are united in solidarity with their expectations."

Multiple other political groups including Islami Andolan Bangladesh, various Islamic parties, Jatiya Nagorik Party (NCP), AAP Bangladesh, Inquilab Manch, Labor Party and AB Party have joined the movement in support, with newly formed student party NCP also vocal from the outset.

Asked why Jamaat has taken the forefront, Advocate Matiur said, "The Hasina-led Awami League government stood against the people, killing around two thousand and injuring more than forty thousand to stay in power. Sheikh Hasina fled because the people unitedly stood against this fascist regime."

Jatiya Party Chairman Golam Mohammad Quader (GM Quader) on the contrary, said that they believe in multi-party democracy.

"We are not in favor of banning any party that is doing or wants to do systematic politics," Quader in his speech as the chief guest at a view-exchange meeting with the Jatiya Chhatra Samaj Central Committee at the auditorium of the Jatiya Party Chairman's Banani office on Saturday.

GM Quader also said, "when the Awami League government banned Jamaat, we protested. But if the Awami League is banned for genocide, then the question arises, what decision will be made regarding the organizations directly or indirectly responsible for the massive genocide during the Great Liberation War in 1971? Because, the greatest genocide in the history of Bangladesh took place during the Great Liberation War".
